hai! this is the page where I ramble about tamagotchis!!


here's a picture of all the tamagotchis I have so far! I got my first one on the 15th of july 2023, but have been interested in tamagotchis since 2020 :3
I've loved virtual pets for even longer, specifically stuff like nintendogs. for the longest time, I didn't own any proper vpet devices. the first actual vpet I 'owned' was back when my sisters had the lps vpets quite a long time ago. one of them had a pig one, the other one had a cat one. they lost them though... hope they find them one day because honestly the lps vpets aren't as bad as some think they are.
as for actual tamagotchis, I started off playing that one shitty mobile game 'my tamagotchi forever'. yknow, the one with all those wish advertisements? and you have to watch them in order to do ANYTHING in game? it was not... the best game. mainly played it because I wanted an actual tama but couldn't get one. I would play it on my blue iphone 5c, and at the time that was my main phone. back in those days my favourite tamagotchi character was lovelitchi and I went as far to name my account on the tamatalk forum 'lovelitchi stan'. I would watch a lot of tamagotchi videos on youtube, specifically ones about the tamagotchi on (aka the tamagotchi meets / tamagotchi some). I REALLY wanted a tamagotchi on. I still want a tamagotchi on. I do not have one.
I would also play an archived version of the dream town game which was shut down a long time ago.
the first tamagotchi related thing I purchased was the ds game 'tamagotchi corner shop 2'. it was fun! must've gotten it in early 2023?

I was so happy when I finally got my first actual tamagotchi! it was this one, the japanese ribbon P1 tamagotchi:

I know a lot of people don't get particularly excited over the P1/P2 tamagotchis, and thats fair. they are the easiest ones to obtain, there are a lot of them and bandai is constantly releasing new ones. they can get boring after a while of playing with them too... but honestly, I do like them quite a lot. they're cute! and they are where it all started, after all. even though this is obviously one of the re-release models.

the second tamagotchi I got was the pink tamagotchi uni!

I LOVE the tamagotchi uni!!!!! colour tamas are so awesome. this is the only colour tama I have (as you can see my collection is pretty small) and it gets a lot of use .. probably my favourite that I own < 3 I love all the different tamas you can raise, I love the whole tamaverse thing, I love the strawberry dlc world that they released for free!!! the personality thing on the uni is super adorable as well!
I don't have many complaints about my uni at all tbh. the fact that you can charge it instead of having to replace batteries is super convinient, even though that feature was introduced in the tamagotchi smart.
honestly, the tamauni seems sort of like an improved tamasmart in a way? it has the same watch gimmick as the tamasmart, and changed some of the things which people complained about w/ the tamasmart. for example some people didn't like how the tamasmart didn't have proper buttons (I think the tamagotchi pix also had this) but the tamauni has proper buttons. I wouldn't know though, since I do not have a tamasmart ..

the third tamagotchi I got was the starry shower P2:

super cute design! I love how its sorta glittery. overall, the gameplay of the P1 and the P2 are similar, but I prefer the P2. it has a better minigame. all of the tamas you can get on both of them are super cute though :]
